Cursive Working On New Album, Tour the U.S.

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Dec 9, 2008

As Cursive continue to work on their long-awaited follow-up to 2006's Happy Hollow, the Omaha-based rock outfit have broken their silence to give a little status update, as well as some tour news.

In a recent posting on the band's website, Cursive said they are almost finished the new album, explaining: "We are all done mixing and have been for a bit but have been working on tweaks and sequence and other fun stuff that no one will ever notice or care about."

However, instead of following up this bit of good news with some firm release details, Cursive announced a fresh string of U.S. tour dates - unfortunately Canada didn't make the cut this time. Now it is possible they'll be working out the album's "tweaks" on the road, but maybe they're just procrastinating.

Either way, here's what's lined up for the tour:

1/14 Minneapolis, MN - Triple Rock Social Club
1/15 Marquette, MI - Northern Michigan University
1/16 Chicago, IL - Schubas (Tomorrow Never Knows Festival) *
1/17 Cleveland Heights, OH - Grog Shop
1/18 Brooklyn, NY - Union Hall
1/19 New York, NY - Mercury Lounge
1/21 Columbus, OH - The Summit
1/22 Columbia, MO - Mojo's
1/23 Omaha, NE - Slowdown
1/24 Omaha, NE - Slowdown
