Though Cold Specks (a.k.a. Al Spx) has been trying to keep the "Bodies at Bay" in her single of the same name, from the doom-blues singer's upcoming sophomore LP Neuroplasticity, she didn't mention anything about music videos. As such, she's just brought a new, hypnotic video into the world.
As the song's soft but steady front end starts up, we see a series of smoky, psychedelic backdrops streaming across the screen, while a cape-sporting Spx appears to be keeping herself within some sort of garage sale incantation circle. Statues of praying hands, wooden lamps and mushroom-shaped ceramics are put in and out of focus, as is the singer as delivers haunted lines like "your eyes were like hollows of madness."
Sometimes she looks devastated about the track, other times she's shuffling her feet across her spiritual sphere of knick-knacks. You'll find it all down below.
Neuroplasticity, meanwhile, drops August 26 through Arts & Crafts/Mute.
