After returning to the storytelling saga of The Amory Wars with 2018's The Unheavenly Creatures, Coheed and Cambria have announced a follow-up LP. The New York prog outfit will share Vaxis II: A Window of the Waking Mind on June 24 via Roadrunner.
Produced by the band's Claudio Sanchez and Zakk Cervini, A Window of the Waking Mind is the second instalment of the five-part Vaxis arc of The Amory Wars, a conceptual story told through the group's studio albums, in addition to comic books and a novel.
Not unlike how The Unheavenly Creatures was presented, A Window of the Waking Mind is also set to arrive as a limited-edition deluxe box set, containing an exclusive 96-page illustrated hardcover novel of the same name, a "Quintillan Speaker Containment Unit Lamp," a poster, and the 'A Window of the Waking Mind Black Card,' which will allow holders early access to tickets and early entry to Coheed and Cambria headline dates.
Listeners who pre-order the box set before January 23 will receive autographed copies, and have their names included within the pages of the accompanying illustrated hardcover novel. Further details can be found here.
2020 saw Coheed and Cambria write a sequel to Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl," while Sanchez lent his vocal talents to a star-studded Rush cover.
