Christina Aguilera Is Giving the World the Lube Her Grandma Deserved

Having long claimed to be a genie in a bottle, Christina Aguilera is offering up a special concoction to help everyone get rubbed the right way.

XXXtina's latest venture aptly deals in risqué business: she's now the co-founder and chief brand advisor of Playground, a new sexual wellness company specializing in personal lubricants, which she says is helping her to launch the lube her grandma deserved.

In an interview with POPSUGAR, the pop star — a longtime advocate of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and sexual liberation — revealed that she actually came from a relatively conservative household that had a restrictive approach to images of sexuality, including all of those dirrty music videos.

"Madonna was definitely not allowed," Aguilera told journalist Alexis Jones. "The general attitude was, 'We don't talk about that,'" she said of growing up with her mother and grandmother, who were both reluctant to broach the topic of sex.

That never sat well with her. Aguilera has gone on to embrace quite the opposite attitude, even recently offering up some sex tips on the Call Her Daddy podcast (because where else?).

The singer continued, "I feel bad my grandma had to have that perception about sexuality. She clearly didn't reach her pleasure points. Maybe she would have been a little happier sometimes had she done that."

Aguilera's made it her mission to eradicate the stigma about sex that seeped into her familial environment as she was coming of age. With Playground, she's hoping to help contribute to shame-free pleasure by creating products — like this first line of four water-based lubes — that make sex more enjoyable.

"At the end of the day, it's about taking any shame or any weirdness about this topic, making it feel fun, making it feel friendly, and making you feel good," the pop star concluded.

For those keeping score at home: sex is good, and phones are bad.
