Behemoth

Evangelia Heretika

Polish blackened death metal outfit Behemoth have finally gotten around to releasing another DVD. The highly anticipated Evangelia Heretika features three discs, with live footage from two concerts, every Behemoth music video to date, a tour documentary, as well as a live audio CD. As anyone who has seen the band can attest, Behemoth always bring it. Their extreme intensity never wavers and their performance of every track is flawless. This is captured on disc one of the DVD set, which includes the band's full concerts from Warsaw, Poland in 2009 and Paris, France in 2008. Both set lists feature a wide range of tracks from their catalogue, including those from their most recent releases, Evangelion and The Apostasy, as well as from their early albums, such as the mighty "Decade Ov Therion" from 1999's Satanica. However, it's Behemoth's performances of crowd-pleasers "Conquer All" and "Slaves Shall Serve," from 2004 breakthrough album Demigod, that are the most inspiring. While the concert footage is thoroughly entertaining, the other discs in the collection, which feature band interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and the entire Warsaw set on audio CD, make Evangelia Heretika truly worth the purchase.
