With Battles' new record Gloss Drop finally in stores, all that's left for the experimental rock troupe to do is promote the hell out of it. Fittingly, the band have just announced several months' worth of tour dates to get the job done.
The band kick things off a European trek tonight (June 8) in London, but make their way back to this side of the pond mid-July. The first Canadian stops they will make will be at Victoria's Sugar Nightclub (July 22) and Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre (July 23).
Battles will take a little bit of time off around then before hitting up some festivals, but the band get back in to the full swing of things again in the fall; an October string of dates will find them hitting up Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton. Check out the full schedule below.
As previously reported, the core trio of Battles will be present in the flesh, while guest vocalists on Gloss Drop, including Boredoms' singer Yamantaka Eye, Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead and Gary Numan, will take part in the shows via triggered sound samples and pre-recorded, projected visuals.
"I didn't want to have just some big screen behind us and have people staring up there and watching someone sing," bassist/guitarist Dave Konopka recently told Exclaim! "So we have it set up so all the visuals are incorporated with our live playing."
