As if Tegan and Sara didn't already have enough going on, what with their new album and their upcoming TV show (to say nothing of a baby and a dog), they've just teamed up with Arkells for a video for the single "Teenage Tears."
This track from Arkells' collab-heavy new album Blink Twice is a soft, reflective ballad that's a little mellower than most of the music these artists are known for these days. The video shows Arkells singer Max Kerman singing alone in an empty shopping mall — Vancouver's iconic Kingsgate Mall, specifically — and he's eventually joined by the Quin sisters.
Kerman said in a statement, "Tegan and Sara have long been an inspiration for us. They've made themselves the most formidable career by taking bold artistic chances."
Tegan Quin said, "Collaborating is something we love to do. But these days, our schedules are chaotic, and so when Max reached out about collaborating on a song called 'Teenage Tears' with Arkells, I prepared him for a no. The song felt melancholy and sweet and nostalgic in all the ways we love and Sara and I were won over after we heard it. We've been neck-deep in projects related to our own adolescence the last few years, and so the song really hit."
Check it out below. Blink Twice is out on September 23, and Tegan and Sara's album Crybaby arrives October 21.
