Allison Russell has cancelled shows in the Canadian Prairies due to bad weather, as a blizzard resulted in Russell's tour bus sliding off the road and into a ditch.

On Saturday (March 2), Russell and opener Aysanabee were due to play Saskatoon's Broadway Theatre, followed by Winnipeg's Park Theatre on Sunday (March 3).

Russell wrote on Instagram over the weekend, “We've been trying to drive to you through the blizzard since 5am - very scary conditions. Our bus slid off the road into a ditch & we're still awaiting the tow truck. Everyone is ok thank the stars & spheres but there is no way for us to safely make it to you in time to play our show."

She asked that attendees hang onto their tickets, as she is planning to reschedule.

Russell is due to play New York on Thursday (March 7), followed by Toronto on Friday (March 8). So far, those shows are currently scheduled to go ahead. See Russell's messages below, and read our 2023 cover story interview with the songwriter here.
