Toronto's AFROWAVETO has announced the lineup for the first of its three-part concert series. The Celestial showcase, happening at 7:00 p.m. ET this Thursday (January 27), will feature performances from TRP.P, Tafari Anthony, Markus Aurelyus, Ceréna, Renee, Charmie, IAMREBELWILL and Unlisted Negros.
The Celestial showcase will be followed by Supernatural and Invincible, the lineups of which have yet to be revealed. All three showcases will stream on AFROWAVETO's YouTube page.
AFROWAVETO's second annual festival is "here to intentionally champion a more diverse and inclusive urban music scene in Toronto, while bridging the gap between more obvious Black music forms (rap, R&B) and less recognized genres (Afrobeats, dancehall)."
The festival was founded in 2019 by Canadian artist Lexxicon. Its inaugural festival happened last year and featured performances from Exco Levi, Kirk Diamond, Desiire, Leila Dey, Shopé, Alliston Davis and many more.
