Our first look at the new movie starring Mike Judge's winsome twosome Beavis and Butt-Head is here — and the full thing is going to come even sooner than expected (because of course).
Instead of its prior July release date, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe is now set for blast off on June 23 via Paramount+.
The long-awaited feature-length follow-up to 1996's Beavis and Butt-Head Do America sees the pair embark on a NASA space mission with NASA in 1998 — the year after their original MTV series ended. Thanks to an uncomfortably plausible (supermassive) blackhole incident, they wind up in the dystopian future that is 2022, where they must attempt to adjust to the contemporary life and times while being hunted by the US government.
Judge wrote and directed the film, alongside reprising his roles from the original series. He's joined by supporting cast members Gary Cole, Chris Diamantopoulos, Nat Faxon, Brian Huskey, Chi McBride, Tig Notaro, Stephen Root, Andrea Savage, Martin Starr and Jimmy O. Yang, and we've got our fingers crossed for a cameo from Jeff Bezos' dong-shaped spaceship.
Watch the trailer for the self-proclaimed "dumbest science-fiction movie ever made" below.
The creator revealed a sneak peek at the accurately-aged Beavis and Butthead in January, after the forthcoming new film was confirmed in February 2020.
