'Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe' Is Coming This Summer

It's described as "perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made"

First America, now the universe: we officially have a title and release date for the next feature-length Beavis and Butt-Head film.

Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe is coming this July to Paramount+. It's the long-awaited follow-up to 1996's Beavis and Butt-Head Do America — and evidently they're doing it bigger than ever. Like, galaxy-sized.

The plot synopsis is as follows [via Deadline]:

In perhaps the dumbest space movie ever made, Beavis and Butt-Head are sentenced to Space Camp by a "creative" judge in 1998. Their obsession with a docking simulator (huh huh) leads to a trip on the Space Shuttle, with predictably disastrous results. After going through a black hole, they reemerge in our time, where they look for love, misuse iPhones and are hunted by the Deep State. Spoiler: they don't score.

What's more, a new series starring the winsome twosome is reportedly set to follow shortly after — and get ready, because it's sole descriptor is: "Beavis and Butt-Head are back and stupider than ever." Paramount+ will also be streaming a full library of 200 remastered classic episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head.

Word of the new movie first came in 2021, before creator Mike Judge revealed the accurately-aged duo last month.

Greg Daniels — Judge's co-creator on King of the Hill — recently confirmed that a potential revival of the other beloved animated comedy series would involve a time jump.
