Tommy Chong has confirmed his involvement in the forthcoming That '70s Show reboot, announcing that he will reprise his role as stoner hippy Leo in spinoff series That '90s Show.

Chong shared the news with The Dark Mark Show [via Variety]:

They gave me a call and I did my part…They never gave me any instructions, so I don't know if I'm supposed to be talking about it or not. I really don't give a shit to tell you the truth. I've got a big mouth. That's what I'm known for…I'm back as Leo.

The Canadian-American actor/cannabis rights activist had previously expressed his desire to return to his iconic That '70s Show character, suggesting that he'd want to see his old castmates in the then-hypothetical series either "at different times, or all together."

Chong joins returning cast members Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Wilmer Valderrama. The original cast will share the screen with Ashley Aufderheide, Callie Haverda, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi and Sam Morelos.

It remains unclear in what capacity each cast member will appear, though as previously reported, Smith and Rupp, who played Red and Kitty Forman, will portray the grandparents of Donna (Prepon) and Eric's (Grace) daughter Leia Forman.

Original showrunners Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner will return as writers and producers. Their daughter Lindsey Turner is also on board. Gregg Mettler serves as executive producer and showrunner.

Notably, Danny Masterson — who played the show's Hyde — has not yet been tapped amid his ongoing sexual assault case.
