A family in Warwickshire, UK, accepted an impossible mission this week when Tom Cruise landed in their garden via helicopter on his way to a meeting.

As BBC reports, local woman Alison Webb was told that a mystery VIP needed to land their helicopter in her garden as the nearby Coventry Airport was closed. As it turns out, the unnamed flyer was Cruise, who was "running late" while in the UK shooting Mission: Impossible 7.

"I thought it would be kind of cool for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden," she told the BBC. "[Cruise] basically arrived and got out and it was like 'Wow.'"

The actor landed and reportedly had to race off to a meeting, but not before stopping for selfies, elbow bumps and offering the Webb children a ride with the helicopter pilot.

"He went straight over to the children for a chat, then came over and elbow bumped us and said thank you very much," Webb said. "Then he said if the kids would like they could go up in the helicopter."

The family accepted the offer, and the whole encounter "turned out to be an incredible day," Webb said.

Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible 7 is due in theatres on May 27 after being delayed over coronavirus-related issues. The film also stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Rob Delaney and Esai Morales.
