Mission: Impossible is nearly living up to its title, as the acrimonious set of the franchise's seventh instalment has been marked by controversy. Earlier this week, audio surfaced of Tom Cruise freaking the fuck out on some crew members for allegedly ignoring COVID protocols. That meltdown reportedly caused five crew members to quit. Now, the film has reportedly shut down for the holidays sooner than expected.

As TMZ reports, today marks the last day of production for the film before taking an extended Christmas break that will last until the new year at the earliest.

The early pause in production reportedly stems from Cruise's desire to take a private jet to Miami, where he will spend his Christmas holidays with his son Connor.

Cruise's initial rant was apparently inspired by two crew members who were standing within six feet of one another to look at a monitor. The freakout caused at least five crew members to quit the movie. Further, The Sun claimed that Cruise had another meltdown after the first one leaked.

Listen to Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible rant below. Mission: Impossible 7 is supposedly set for release in November 2021.
