We learned earlier this year that Rick & Morty would continue without co-creator and lead voice actor Justin Roiland, and a premiere date for Season 7 of Adult Swim's hit animated series has arrived.
Season 7 of Rick & Morty premieres Sunday, October 15, at 11 p.m. ET on Adult Swim. The new episodes will be broadcast in over 134 countries in 38 languages.
The seventh season of Rick & Morty will be the first without the involvement of Roiland. Adult Swim cut ties with the show's co-creator and voice actor following the animator's domestic violence charges, which were subsequently dismissed as a result of insufficient evidence.
Notably, Roiland voiced both of the show's titular protagonists, Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith. Earlier this year, executive producer Steve Levy revealed that Roiland's roles would be recast, though the names of the newcomers have yet to be revealed.
Even so, a press release announcing the Season 7 premiere date affirms that "Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever!"
"It's happening," Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen shared of the new season. "Thanks to the talent of the entire show team, we can all enjoy 10 new episodes that yet again raise the bar for comedy and animation. This season proves that the geniuses at work on Rick & Morty are just getting started."
