Now that Adult Swim has cut ties with Justin Roiland — co-creator and lead voice actor at Rick & Morty — following the animator's domestic violence charges, the series is set to carry out its contract with the network, with plans to complete the remaining 40 episodes in a 70-episode order.
The Wrap reports that not only will the series will continue without Roiland, who has voiced both titular characters since the show's first season in 2013, but it also has no plans to cut its order short. Both roles will reportedly be recast.
As previously reported, Roiland has also been dismissed by Hulu, for which he created Solar Opposites, in addition to resigning from his video game studio, Squanch Games.
Season 7 of Rick & Morty is forthcoming. So far, neither Adult Swim nor the series itself has announced a release schedule.
