In pairings you never thought you would hear about, Kaley Cuoco is set to star alongside Pete Davidson in new rom-com Meet Cute, out September 21.
Directed by Alex Lehmann and written by Noga Pnueli, the movie follows lovers-at-first-sight Sheila (Cuoco) and Gary (Davidson). Little does Gary know, his magical first date with Sheila was not so impromptu — and that they keep falling in love over and over again à la Groundhog Day — thanks to Sheila's time machine.
Lehmann has expressed his excitement for the film's release, saying [via NYLON], "If I had a time machine right now, I'd be torn. Do I skip ahead to our release date or do I go back and relive the joy of making this film?" He added, "Lucky for me, it's a decision I don't get to make. I'm excited for audiences to get swept away on this wild romantic ride."
If you're a Davidson fan who's excited to see the comedian's transformation into a love interest — or you're morbidly interested in seeing exactly how this transformation will be possible — you may want to think twice; perhaps this is the "scheduling conflict" in question that made him cancel his Toronto show? Either way, there's one person's Meet Cute thoughts that we can do without: Kanye West's.
A trailer for Meet Cute has yet to be released.
