After six seasons, Hasan Minhaj's current affairs show Patriot Act has been cancelled by Netflix.

"What a run. @patriotact has come to an end," Minhaj wrote on Twitter. "I got to work with the best writers, producers, researchers, and animators in the game. My 2 babies were born and grew up with the show. TY to @Netflix and everyone who watched. Now it's time to return these screens to Best Buy 😎"

Patriot Act aired for 40 episodes across six seasons on Netflix, winning an Emmy, a Peabody Award and two Webby Awards. Last year, the streaming giant came under fire for removing an episode critical of Saudi Arabia from its platform in the country.

Canadians may recall Minhaj sitting down for a one-on-one interview with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in advance of last October's federal election, grilling him about the environment, the country's own dealings with Saudi Arabia and more. You can revisit that sit-down below.

Patriot Act will remain on Netflix in spite of its cancellation. The show's final episode aired in June.
