'Mr. Robot' Will End After Season 4

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 29, 2018

Mr. Robot fans can look forward to a new season in the new year, but unfortunately, it will be the show's last.

Creator Sam Esmail revealed on Twitter today that the fourth season would be the "final chapter" in the story of cyber-security-engineer-turned-hacker Elliot.

The show stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater, and has racked up 13 Emmy nominations for USA Network, including three for this year's upcoming ceremony. Slater has been nominated for three Golden Globes and won for Best Supporting Actor in 2016, while Malek has been nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globes twice.

"We've explored these different stages of Elliot and Robot and his internal struggle," Esmail told Variety after Season 3 came to an end. "Now we're getting into that stage that this season's about: disintegration. Next season, we'll then start to explore what happens when they do start to integrate."

Season 4 is slated to premiere in 2019, though a specific release date has not been announced. It's also unclear how many episodes it will consist of.
