In addition to a Beyoncé concert film and a Spider-Man movie, the name Homecoming also represents another confusing yet critically acclaimed sci-fi series from Mr. Robot's Sam Esmail. The show, which debuted on Amazon last year, will return for a second season, but Julia Roberts is stepping down.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roberts will be replaced by Janelle Monáe in the series. Roberts had previously only signed on for a single season of the show, but she was also snubbed at the Emmys, which undoubtedly contributed to her not returning. She will, however, still stay on as an executive producer.
In Season 2, Monáe will play a woman who wakes up in a canoe with no idea where or who she is. It's a continuation of the storyline that was teased in the final post-credits scene of Season 1.
