After issuing a formal apology for making it seem like he wanted certified sweetie-pie Keanu Reeves dead in his memoir, Friends actor Matthew Perry has shared his plans to remove the Canadian's name from future editions of the book.

Even before Perry published Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing last fall, he became the talk of the 'net for some excerpts from the text reflecting on the deaths of people close to him by inferring that Reeves didn't deserve to live.

"Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?" Perry wrote, later repeating himself in the context of comedian Chris Farley's passing: "I punched a hole through Jennifer Aniston's dressing room wall when I found out. Keanu Reeves walks among us."

Everyone was very confused. Perry has since denied that he won't know peace while Reeves walks among us, claiming that he had just chosen a name at random and that he's "actually a big fan of Keanu." (He's hopeless and awkward and desperate for love!) Now, he's set to prove it in ink.

At the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on Saturday (April 22), Perry appeared on a panel moderated by the publication's deputy editor of arts and entertainment, Matt Brennan, during which he expressed his regrets for the unkind-spirited bit in his debut book.

"I said a stupid thing. It was a mean thing to do," the actor said [via Variety]. "I pulled his name because I live on the same street… I've apologized publicly to him. Any future versions of the book will not have his name in it."

He added, "If I run into the guy, I'll apologize. It was just stupid."

A friend to all is a friend to none.
