Jennifer Coolidge Thinks Her Character in 'The Watcher' Needs a "Slap Across the Face"

She has some thoughts about how Season 2 should go

Did Jennifer Coolidge read Exclaim!'s scathing review of The Watcher where we told everyone not to watch it? If so, maybe that's why she has some pointers for a potential Season 2. Specifically, she's calling for her aptly-named character "Karen" to face revenge for her actions.

Spoilers ahead for those who are choosing to ignore our advice: While Karen, a realtor, begins the series as a seemingly good friend to Naomi Watts's Nora, this quickly unravels. After she convinces Nora to leave her husband and their cursed home, Karen swoops in to move into 657 Boulevard herself.

While Karen faced some consequences in the show's first season — including the death of her dog — Coolidge thinks it isn't enough: "I think Karen needs a good slap across the face. I think Karen needs to be punished," she said at a press event [via Entertainment Weekly].

For what it's worth, Watts seems to agree with Coolidge. "Nora's gonna take care of Karen," she said at the same event.

The Jennifer Coolidge renaissance is strengthening as she recently also starred in Season 2 of The White Lotus — which earned a slightly better review than The Watcher did. Only time will tell if these two series will boost how often she gets laid à la American Pie.
