Jack Harlow has already released a single named for an NBA player, and recently got some shots up in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game last month. Now, the rapper will hit the court to star in a forthcoming remake of 1992's White Men Can't Jump.
Deadline reports that Harlow will play Billy Hoyle in the reboot from 20th Century. Played by Woody Harrelson in Ron Shelton's 1992 original, Hoyle is a former college basketball player who hustles pickup basketball players, who assume he cannot play well because he is white. The original film also starred Wesley Snipes and Rosie Perez.
The site also notes that Harlow apparently landed the role in what was his first-ever screen audition. We're sure those jump shots from deep range in the Celebrity Game, which you can find below, didn't hurt his chances either.
20th Century's reboot of White Men Can't Jump will be directed by Calmatic from a script written by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall. Barris will also produce via his Khalabo Ink Society banner, while NBA star Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil and Noah Weinstein will serve as executive producers through their Mortal Media banner, in addition to Hall and E. Brian Dobbins.
