Toronto-based broadcasting network the Hollywood Suite and its various television channels have announced April's featured programming, with new series and movies that defined the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s — always airing uncut and commercial-free.
Among the dozens of titles Hollywood Suite is offering up this month, BBC One's six-part pandemic comedy series Staged will grace the network's airwaves beginning April 1. Starring Michael Sheen (The Queen) and David Tennant (Doctor Who) playing fictionalized versions of themselves, the series follows the pair of actors as they attempt to rehearse for a production via video conference. Tennant and Sheen are joined by special guests Judi Dench, Samuel L. Jackson and Adrian Lester on the series. The full series is available on-demand now.
Also joining April's programming is the newly digitally remastered 1977 British-Italian limited television series, Jesus of Nazareth. Directed and co-written by Franco Zeffirelli, the series stars Anne Bancroft, Christopher Plummer, Ernest Borgnine, Laurence Olivier, Anthony Quinn, James Earl Jones, Rod Steiger, Ian McShane and Peter Ustinov.
In addition to Staged and Jesus of Nazareth, Hollywood Suite will also host The Vow, Let the Right One In, Holy Mountain, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and more in April.
