Donald Trump may officially be out of the picture now, but his presidency has certainly set the stage for entertainment figures' future runs on the Oval Office. And while Kanye has seemingly betrayed his American political dreams (for now), Hollywood's highest-paid actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is considering stepping up to the plate in his place.
Speaking with USA Today, the actor/energy drink mogul explained that his dreams of running for office — which he first hinted at back in 2017 — may still become a reality.
"I would consider a presidential run in the future if that's what the people wanted," he said. "Truly I mean that, and I'm not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people... So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground."
It's a timely notion, considering Johnson's new series Young Rock — which premieres tonight on NBC — is a semi-biographical recounting of his life, leading up to a potential future that sees the actor running for prez.
While Johnson hasn't eluded to any policy ideas or political platforms, it's safe to say that he would likely lean blue, considering his delight at President Joe Biden's election win. Either way, he has four years to figure it out.
