Brian Cox revealed that he learned a valuable lesson when signing up for his new reality competition show 007: Road to a Million — always read the fine print.
The Succession star told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show that he initially thought he was set to be the main antagonist in a new James Bond movie, rather than a reality show loosely based on the martini-sipping secret agent's endeavours.
"For years, I thought, 'Yeah, I'd love to be a James Bond villain. It'd be really interesting.' And I thought, 'This is my moment.' But it wasn't," he shared.
"You see, it was called 007: Road to a Million, I thought it was the new James Bond film," Cox explained. "So I said, 'Oh, finally they're getting me in a James Bond movie.' So I thought, 'Yes, of course!'"
Ultimately though, Cox, who puts competitors through rigorous challenges as the ominous Controller, said that the mistake was actually a blessing in disguise.
"It was great fun," he said. "I love bossing people around, so that's what I did. I bossed all these people around and they went through amazing [journeys]. It's a really good show, I urge you to watch it."
007: Road to a Million starts streaming tomorrow (November 10) on Prime Video. Check out the trailer below.
