Aside from telling us that their Adam Sandler movies are doing perfectly well, thank you very much, the bigwigs at Netflix are not particularly transparent about their streaming numbers. They've changed their tune with the recent movie Bird Box, however, revealing just how successful the movie was in its first week online.
Despite the fact that it's mostly a middle-of-the-road, by-the-numbers thriller, audiences flocked to the flick in its first week on the 'flix. In fact, since opening on December 21 the movie has attracted over 45 million viewers:
Because they're so secretive with their data, it's not really possible for a third party to verify the numbers. Assuming its true, however, that means nearly one-third of the company's 137.1 million users watched the film in its first week. Not bad!
