London, ON's Forest City Film Festival (FCFF) is back for 2022 in hybrid form this month, including its third annual Music Video Night — a screening-meets-concert event highlighting the work of artists like B.A. Johnston, OMBIIGIZI, Bif Naked, Ellis, Greber, Chad Price, Mountain of Wolves and more.

The festival runs in person from October 15 to 23, followed by an online iteration from October 24 to 29. Kicking off at 7:30 p.m. ET at 100 Kellogg Lane on October 22, the music video showcase is open to all Southwest Ontario artists and regional creative teams. Eligibility is determined by any member of the key creative team behind the work being from Southwestern Ontario or the video having at least been partially produced in the area.

"I think that this competition is so important because London holds some of the most talented artists in the country, arguably the world … or at the very least we reach international audiences through our productions and connections," said Chris Evans, director of Andrew Rayel's "Silver Lining" music video. "Music Video Night has allowed new talent to emerge from hiding and open the community doors of collaborating and continuing the arts in London. I have met some incredible talent and friends through FCFF and plan to continue working together to create international reach with the work we do."

A panel of industry judges, including Neil Havert, Sarah Burke and Everton Lewis Jr., will critique the selections based on production value, performance, storyline, originality and direction to crown an overall winner after the music videos have been presented thematically in front of a live audience, with special performances from select finalists.

The film festival has also added music industry events to their Ontario Screen Creators Conference (OSCC) this year, including the Music Sync Summit presented in collaboration with the London Music Office — a crash course in the world of music synchronization, featuring a workshop, panel discussions, a pitch session and speed dating with industry professionals.

Music Video Night tickets are on sale now for $30 via the FCFF website, where you can additionally find more information about this year's programming.
