For a minute there, reality got too bleak for Charlie Brooker to consider making a new season of Black Mirror. Society is arguably still struggling, but thankfully, the dystopian anthology series is on its way back to Netflix — and Season 6 just got a whole lot more interesting.
Variety reports that the show — which famously held castings spots for Miley Cyrus, Topher Grace, Cristin Milioti, Jesse Plemmons, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and more in previous seasons — has just lined up a stellar cast of Josh Hartnett, Aaron Paul, Zazie Beetz, Kate Mara, Paapa Essiedu, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton and Anjana Vasan for its next instalment.
The sixth season is reportedly now in production, and the above actors have been cast across three episodes, whose other details remain under wraps. Variety also reports that more actors are being sought for additional episodes, so we're likely to have a longer-than-normal run of episodes in Season 6.
Last season aired in 2019, and ran just three episodes, while Season 3 and 4 each got six. We first got word of Season 6 back in May, when we also learned that the cinematic scope of each episode would be expanded even further, with each being treated as its own film.
