Because he's yet to run out of funny ideas, Conan O'Brien recently travelled to Armenia alongside his assistant Sona Movsesian. The episode aired last night (November 17), and was packed with hilarious and touching moments as Conan cracked jokes and Sona reconnected with her Armenian roots. Of the many highlights was a moment when Conan appeared on an Armenian soap opera.
Turns out Conan made quite a few talk show appearances while visiting the country, but the highlight was his turn as a cigar-smoking gangster on a violent soap opera.
Below you'll see him prepare for the role, don a wig and learn some Armenian. The real payoff, however, is the clip that made it to air. Shakily shot with plenty of fake blood, it's a truly surreal piece of television.
