Pete Davidson Responds to Chevy Chase's 'SNL' Comments: "He's a Fucking Douchebag"

Pete Davidson is the latest Saturday Night Live star to weigh in on Chevy Chase's controversial remarks about the sketch comedy show that made him a star.

Davidson appeared on The Howard Stern Show yesterday (September 24) and was asked about Chase's recent comments that SNL wasn't what it used to be.

"He's a fucking douchebag," Davidson retorted. "Fuck Chevy Chase. I hate that dude."

When Stern pressed him on whether those feelings sprung from what he had said about the show, Davidson said, "He's just a genuine bad, racist person and I don't like him."

"What has he done since '83?" Davidson continued. When Stern replied that he'd actually had a pretty successful career, the young comedy star said, "He had a really big career and then it stopped because everybody realized he's a jerk-off."

"It's disrespectful to Lorne too, a guy that gave you a career," Davidson added. "No matter how big you get, you can't forget what that guy did for you. He created SNL and you were the first person on it. Why do that?"

Chase recently spoke out again SNL in interviews with The Washington Post and on Norm Macdonald's Netflix show.

"I'm amazed that Lorne has gone so low," he said. "I had to watch a little of it, and I just couldn't fucking believe it."

He also criticized the way that current cast members say the show's opening line, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"

As previously reportedSaturday Night Live will return for its 44th season on September 29, featuring host Adam Driver and musical guest Kanye West.
