It's hard to believe that Fletch is an actual movie franchise and not just something you half remember from skipping school and watching TBS on a sick day. But now a whole new generation of people will get to enjoy Fletch on their sick days, because Jon Hamm is set to take over for Chevy Chase and star in a modern reboot.

Miramax is set to make a new movie based on the second book in the Fletch series, Confess Fletch. The book sees Fletch being pegged as the prime suspect in a murder. While attempting to prove his innocence, he's tasked with finding his fiancée's stolen art collection, acquired after her father goes missing and is presumed dead.

In addition to starring, Jon Hamm will produce alongside his manager and producer Connie Tavel. Greg Mottola of Superbad and Adventureland fame is set to direct.

Stay tuned for more on the Fletch reboot as it becomes available.
