'Atlanta' to End After Fourth Season

Donald Glover has already finished filming seasons three and four

Back in November of 2021, Donald Glover shared a mysterious, cultish teaser trailer for Atlanta's much anticipated third season (and ragged on Lil Dicky in the process) before revealing in December that the new season would be premiering on March 24 of this year

And now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it's been announced that the acclaimed show's fourth season — which has already been filmed — will be its last.

The news was broken by FX CEO John Landgraf during the Television Critics Association's virtual winter press tour, who told reporters that "the new season is everything you've come to expect from Atlanta."

The show's final seasons were filmed back-to-back in order to have them air in quick succession, with the fourth season expected to arrive in the fall of 2022. Atlanta's second season aired way back in 2018.

The news isn't necessarily a shock, as Glover left his overall deal with FX last year, securing a new deal with Amazon. Glover is currently working on an adaptation of 2005's Mr. and Mrs. Smith for the streamer. Glover was originally set to star in the series opposite Phoebe Waller-Bridge, but the former Fleabag creator has since dropped out.
