'Fleabag' Is Ending

"There will not be a third series. This is it"

Phoebe Waller-Bridges is about to return with Killing Eve Season 2 — her award-winning series with Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. But the U.K. writer/director/actress is also in the midst of her other amazingly dark comedy Fleabag, which is currently airing its second series. Unfortunately, though, next week's episode will be Fleabag's last.

The news comes via Fleabag star Sian Clifford, who plays Claire in the acclaimed TV series. Clifford was on BBC Breakfast this morning, where she broke the sad news.

"There will not be a third series. This is it," Clifford said. "I think I've described it online as like this beautiful, perfect ending and I think it is. But I think what it's closer to is poetry."

She continued: "I think that people will accept that this is the end when they see it because I think it is complete; I think the story is complete."

Clifford later echoed that this really is the end for Fleabag on Twitter. For the unfamiliar, Waller-Bridge created Fleabag and stars as its lead character. Its initial series arrived back in 2016, earning it deservedly massive praise both in the U.K. and abroad.

Fleabag recently returned for Series 2, and so far, the show has seen Waller-Bridge's at the top of her game. But apparently, this is the end.

On the plus side, Killing Eve Season 2 is set to premiere on Sunday (April 7) via BBC America.
