After delivering one of our favourite sets at Montreal's Taverne Tour festival earlier this year, Hamilton-based musician Zoon has detailed his debut album.

The Ojibwe musician born Daniel Monkman will release Bleached Wavves on June 19 through Paper Bag Records. The 10-track effort is described by Monkman as "moccasin-gaze," bringing together his First Nations heritage and love of shoegaze.

First single "Vibrant Colours" arrives alongside the announcement, complete with a video from director Christopher Mills that you can find below.

Of the track, Monkman explained, "I started to improvise melodies but they kept slipping away and that's where the lyrics in the song come from, and that reference of memories slipping away comes from my experience with my grandmother who suffered from dementia."

Monkman will perform as Zoon at New York's New Colossus Festival in March, ahead of playing the final edition of Guelph's Kazoo! Fest.
