Former Fucked Up guitarist and No Warning vocalist Ben Cook — a.k.a. Young Guv — has unveiled the release date for his second album of 2022 and shared its lead single, "Change Your Mind."

Following last month's GUV III, GUV IV is slated to arrive on June 24 via Run for Cover/Hand Drawn Dracula. The prolific songwriter's pair of power pop LPs were included among Exclaim!'s 32 Most Anticipated Canadian Albums of 2022.

New single "Change Your Mind" was co-written with fellow roman numeral fan James Matthew VII. To match the track's hazy Americana-esque pedal steel laced with psychedelic nuances, the accompanying music video was filmed in Oaxaca, Mexico — harkening back to the New Mexican wilderness wherein the album was penned.

"Old" Mexico is also where Cook fled after tracking the albums in Los Angeles for a much-needed repose. "I'm taking a complete break from music," he shared in a press release. "I haven't picked up a guitar since the record wrapped. I'm learning Spanish and boxing."
