We've already heard a few tracks from Fucked Up member Ben Cook's new solo album as Young Guv, and now he's shared Ripe 4 Luv in its entirety.
Ripe 4 Luv is extremely different from Fucked Up's ambitiously epic take on hardcore punk, since it dives headlong into dreamy indie pop. Opener "Crushing Sensations" kicks things off with boppy drum machines and giddy falsetto hooks, while "Crawling Back to You" is noisy with its wall of distorted guitars, and "Kelly, I'm Not a Creep" places its British guitar-pop jangle atop a stormy foundation of fuzz.
The jangle returns on "Living the Dream," while the synth-dipped "Aquarian" is mellow and atmospheric, and Jef Barbara makes a guest appearance on the soft-focus sprawl of seven-and-a-half-minute closer "Wong Crowd."
Hear it all below [via Spin]. Ripe 4 Luv drops on March 10 through Slumberland.
