Fucked Up guitarist Ben Cook is a pro when it comes to juggling side-projects, and for now, he's returned to his Young Guv moniker to deliver some new material.
The artist formerly known as Young Governor will be releasing Ripe 4 Luv on March 10 (via Slumberland), but Cook is teasing the release with a stream of album cut "Wrong Crowd."
Apparently it's written from the perspective of a wrongfully imprisoned man to his wife — though to a passive listener, it sounds a bit more chipper. Bordering on surf-rock, but with enough of a funky sax infusion to keep it interesting, the tune will keep your ears busy for over seven minutes.
Ripe 4 Luv follows Young Guv's True Love Café, and you can hear the first snippet of the new album by listening to "Wrong Crowd" in the player below.
