Wu-Tang Clan's Spiritual Mentor Popa Wu Dies at 63

Tributes have poured in from Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Method Man and more

Popa Wu — a Wu-Tang Clan's longtime spiritual mentor — has died. His passing was confirmed today by multiple Wu-Tang members, including Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, GZA and Method Man, among others. Popa Wu was 63.

A member of the Five Percent Nation, Popa Wu has appeared on various Wu-Tang projects over the years. This includes on Raekwon's "North Star," Ghostface Killah's "Black Jesus" and Wu-Tang Forever spoken work intro "Wu-Revolution."

Popa Wu also released his own solo album called Visions of the Tenth Chamber in 2000.
