Toronto, ON rockers Wildlife have spent the past few years climbing the ranks and gaining recognition via a number of relatively small-sized gigs, but their second album, …On the Heart, demands more. Enlisting producers Peter Katis (Interpol, the National) and Gus Van Go (the Stills, Hollerado), Wildlife have returned with an album that's bigger, bolder and more triumphant than its debut. Single "Born the Ruin" is a guitar anthem that possesses the ability to elicit handclaps, stomps and sing-alongs from festival-sized audiences, as does "Lightning Tent," a heart-warming slice of emotive rock. It's easy to imagine Wildlife on the same stages as their international contemporaries, but up for debate is whether or not they would stand out from the pack of already strong headlining acts like White Lies or Kings of Leon. Regardless, they have solidified themselves as Toronto's rising rock stars; it's just a matter of time before they reach that next level.
