Never ones to go the conventional route, indie alt-country folks Wilco have announced their latest way to get fans involved: a haiku contest.
Yup, the group, who have plans to head back to the studio in January, want fans to send in their Wilco-related haikus. The grand-prize winner gets a signed Gibson SG, while runners-up get sets of those Wilco figurines and some other goodies. And that's a heck of a lot better than the last thing we won for our haikus, a shiny smiley-face sticker, back in Grade 3.
You can hand in your haiku via email at haiku@wilcoworld.net or through Twitter with hashtag #wilcohaiku, where you can also go right now and read other people's haikus.
The contest ends on November 27 so get your haiku hats on and get to it!
