Wet Leg have won two Grammys. Tonight, the British indie rock duo took home the prizes for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance.
Wet Leg won Best Alternative Music Album with their 2022 self-titled debut, coming out on top in a category that also included Arcade Fire, Big Thief and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Their single "Chaise Longue," from that same album, earned Best Alternative Music Performance, beating Arctic Monkeys, Big Thief, Florence + the Machine and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
"This is so funny. Thanks so much," the band said in their acceptance speech. "What are we doing here? I don't know! But here we are. This year has been so surprising."
Other winners so far tonight include Beyoncé (Best Dance/Electronic Recording, Best Traditional R&B Performance) Kendrick Lamar (Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance), Drake (Best Melodic Rap Performance, with Tems), Steve Lacy (Best Progressive R&B Album), Ozzy Osbourne (Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance) and Brandi Carlile (Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance). As of this writing, many of the major categories have yet to be handed out.
