A week on from the announcement of his signing with the Scarborough Shooting Stars, J. Cole made his Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) debut in Guelph, ON, yesterday, with his team falling to the Guelph Nighthawks by a final score of 89-80.
Coming off the bench for the Shooting Stars at Guelph's Sleeman Centre, Cole entered the game to cheers from the crowd, and went on to finish the evening with three points on 1-of-4 shooting, all of his attempts coming from distance.

Cole's first-ever CEBL bucket was a 3-pointer, which you can watch from a few different angles below. Left open in the corner by the entire Nighthawks team, he calls for the ball and wastes little time getting his shot up. In just shy of 15 minutes on the floor, Cole also collected one rebound, one assist and one foul.
While he didn't make the trip to Guelph, Drake still tuned in to Cole's debut, sharing a snap of his TV with the caption, "It's real @scarboroughshootingstars my brother just checked in." Of course, the Shooting Stars are co-owned by the Canadian star's friend and OVO co-founder Niko Carino.
Cole previously played basketball in high school in North Carolina, and made his professional debut last year with the Rwanda Patriots in the Basketball Africa League, appearing in three games with the team. He hit the court shortly after releasing sixth studio album The Off-Season.
