Digits, the long-running alias of Toronto electronic songwriter Alt Altman, has announced his latest album. Stay Alive is out November 10, and the single "Lost Dream" is out now.
Stay Alive was produced by Roger Leavens (The Rural Alberta Advantage, Born Ruffians). A press release calls the eight-song album a "dystopic electronic pop album exploring societal collapse and survival in desperate times." The raw production style, with very little reverb, emphasizes the harsh subject matter.
The album was mastered by Shout Out Out Out Out's Nik Kozub, and Destroyer's Joseph Shabason plays saxophone on the song "Death and Desire," which is a new version of the title track from his 2012 mixtape, Death and Desire. "Because It's Wrong" is also a new version of a Death and Desire cut, while "Changing" is a synth-forward cover of "The Times They Are a-Changin'" by Bob Dylan.
