Remember 2020's spacey ska team-up between Todd Rundgren and Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo? Now, the former's latest album featuring that track is now ready to launch. Rundgren will share 26th studio LP Space Force on October 14 via Cleopatra Records.
Space Force — which also includes the songwriter's 2021 single with Sparks, "Your Fandango" — finds Rundgren assembling a remarkably varied crew of collaborators for the 12-track effort. It follows the Wizard, the True Star's 2017 album White Knight.
Along with Cuomo and the brothers Mael, Space Force also features work with the Roots, fearless fretboard explorer Adrian Belew, Montreal-based artist and professor Yassin 'Narcy' Alsalman (f.k.a. Narcicyst), Thomas Dolby, Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen, Neil Finn of Crowded House, You Am I's Davey Lane, the Lemon Twigs, Alfie Templeman and virtuosic six-stringer Steve Vai, who guests on closer "Eco Warrior Goddess."
Arriving today is the Belew-assisted opener "Puzzle," which you can hear below alongside "Godiva Girl" with the Roots and "Espionage" with Narcy.
