Thundrah

The minute Thundrah took the stage, opening the highly anticipated Fucked Up/Pere Ubu showcase, almost everyone in the audience thought the same thing: Why have I not seen this band before? Starting the set with spazzy indie punk guitars, noisy boy/girl vocals and appropriately dramatic lighting, Thundrah were ridiculously entertaining. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the band closed with an enormous drum choir, where dozens of drummers joined the band on stage for an explosive finale and possibly a festival highlight. It was also the final performance with drummer Zsofia, whose undeniable stage presence makes for an unfortunate loss for the band.
