If you subscribe to Third Man Records' quarterly Vault, your collection is about to get another White Stripes live album. The candy-coloured garage duo are dipping into the archives for Live at the Detroit Institute of Arts, recorded on November 2, 2001.
The set was captured in the band's hometown a few months after the release of their breakthrough album, White Blood Cells. The performance at the Detroit Institute of Arts was, at the time, the biggest room they had ever played in, and the 33-song set (34 songs if you take into account the medley of "Cannon" and "Grinnin' in Your Face ") featured numerous cover tunes alongside classic originals like "Fell in Love with a Girl" and "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground."
This is the 50th instalment of Third Man's Vault packages. The live album is pressed on red and white vinyl and comes with a DVD of the same performance, plus some photo prints.

Meanwhile, frontman Jack White has hinted that his has new solo material in the works. When asked about new music, he recently told The Telegraph, "I want to say, but I probably shouldn't. Let's see: I've been off the road for two years, and there's a studio at my house — let's put it that way!"
