Jonny Pierce has shared a new song as the Drums, the first new material from the project since 2019's Brutalism. "I Want It All" is the first track to arrive from his forthcoming full-length follow-up, which will come courtesy of ANTI-.
"The song emerged from the longing and the pain that stemmed from a loveless childhood," Pierce said of the track in a release. "It is only in the past few years that I have really begun to understand what happened to me as a boy, which has helped me start to build my own bridge towards real love."
He continued: "The song is a declaration — that I will take what I was never given. I want the full experience of being human, which includes love and connection. I want it all."
Pierce has also mapped out a North American tour in support of the forthcoming album. The summer trek includes a pair of stops in Canada: Toronto's Danforth Music Hall on August 6, and Vancouver's Fortune Sound Club on August 15. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 7 at 10 a.m. local time, following various presales that begin tomorrow (April 4) at 10 a.m. local time. See ticket details here.
