The Afghan Whigs have shared details of their first new album in five years. The band will share ninth studio effort How Do You Burn? on September 9 via Royal Cream/BMG.

Following 2017's In Spades, the 10-song How Do You Burn? finds the Whigs coming together with several "serial collaborators" — the late Mark Lanegan chief among them. As friend, recurring collaborator and Whigs lead vocalist Greg Dulli reveals, "It was Mark who named the album."

Lanegan sings backing vocals on a pair of album tracks, while further contributions come from Susan Marshall, Van Hunt and Marcy Mays. "The Getaway" is the latest track from the album to arrive, following the debut of "I'll Make You See God" in Gran Turismo 7 earlier this year.

Next week, the Afghan Whigs will begin a spring tour of the US, and you can find the dates here. In 2020, Dulli made his solo debut with Random Desire.
