TDE Hints at 2016 Releases from Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q and Ab-Soul

Top Dawg Entertainment had a pretty huge year in 2015, putting out big hip-hop releases like Kendrick Lamar's best-of-list-topping To Pimp a Butterfly and Jay Rock's highly on-demand 90059. Now, label boss Anthony Tiffith is looking ahead to what the rest of 2016 will look like and he's revealed some hints via Instagram.

In a post last night (February 29), he snapped a whiteboard showing the status of a number of in-progress TDE projects. It looks like ScHoolboy Q's Oxymoron follow-up is in the sample clearance stage, while SZA, Isaiah Rashad and Ab-Soul each have albums on the way, as well.

As for Kendrick Lamar's status? "??? (Get Top on the phone)" may not seem like the most promising news, but the rapper has been dropping snippets of new material on his late-night television and awards show performances, so there could be something in the works.

Jay Rock is currently listed as "ER," most likely a reference to his ongoing recovery following a motorcycle accident last month.

A couple of new unnamed artists are also on the docket, while Black Hippy — the collaborative group featuring Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Lamar and ScHoolboy Q — appear to be in the "praying" phase of a 2017 album. We're sending them all of the clasped hands emojis we can muster.
